Originally organized out of a desire to provide our associates with better service than they could find at other financial institutions, Gallup Federal Credit Union was initially called "Green and Growing Federal Credit Union" when it opened on Sept. 13, 1978. Since then, it has gone through a number of changes, taking on the name "Security Shares Federal Credit Union" on Oct. 30, 1985, before establishing its current name on Sept. 4, 1992. Its first president was Sandy Wolfe, who preceded Susan Robak, Keri Waak (Chambers), Jean Poppert, and our current president, Ronny Miller.
The breadth of our product offerings is continually expanding, and today we are a full-service financial institution, offering traditional savings and checking accounts, consumer and mortgage loans, and investment services through Guide Rock Capital Management. Our current six-person team serves more than 2,000 members in 41 states.
By providing world-class service at a reasonable price, our offerings will continue to evolve to serve our members as efficiently and effectively as possible.
I started with Gallup in 1996 as a consumer interviewer, while working toward a degree in finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My work with the credit union began immediately after graduation in 1999. I am responsible for ensuring that our credit union lives out its mission to our members, providing a safe and secure financial institution that leads a journey toward thriving financial well-being.
I started at Gallup Federal Credit Union in 2007, six years after graduating from the University of Nebraska Omaha. I am responsible for balancing our credit union books on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. I am accountable for the accounting operations of the credit union, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and processing all general ledger entries. I am also responsible for our monthly internal audit with our supervisory committee and our annual exam with the National Credit Union Administration.
I started at Gallup Federal Credit Union in February 2013, six months after graduating from South Dakota State University. I began my career with the credit union handling member service relations and have recently added consumer lending responsibilities and mortgage processing. I am responsible for coordinating member service initiatives, evaluating loan applications and ensuring that every mortgage is processed, packaged and verified with the utmost care.
I started with Gallup Federal Credit Union in March 2015 to handle all member service relations. I am responsible for day to day member account transactions through phone, email or in person request. I also coordinate all advertising and member-relations activities. I work to produce communications for all aspects of the CU as well as plan the different member events throughout the year. I enjoy interacting with our members each day and providing the best in member service. I earned my bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in 2002.
I joined the GFCU team in April 2015 as the Financial Advisor of Guide Rock Capital Management, Inc. Since 2003, I have had the privilege of assisting individuals, couples and businesses in the areas of investments, insurances, and retirement planning. I take the time to get to know, listen and understand each of my clients to have a better sense of what their desires and concerns are. I graduated from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in Finance. I hold the FINRA Series 7, 63, 65, life and health licenses in Nebraska and Iowa and am certified in Long Term Care (CLTC) and also have the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF®) designation through the American College.
I joined the Gallup Federal Credit Union team in January 2016 as the Member Service Coordinator to assist members with all monetary transactions and other account related materials in person, by phone or email. I ensure all of our members receive exceptional service when they come to the Credit Union. I also assist our Financial Advisor with Guide Rock Capital Management clients by organizing agendas and making appointments to meet the needs of all clients. I graduated from Bellevue University in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Communication and Sociology.
Our volunteers are essential to the stability of a safe and sound financial institution. These individuals volunteer their time without pay to help promote and guide credit union operations.
